ACTION: The first step in achieving your goals.
𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱.
This Irish proverb surely explains why many New Year’s resolutions never get fulfilled.
It’s not enough to write down goals and place them all over your apartment, office, in your car, everywhere. Some people go as far as having a vision board, where they place images of the future they desire. These are great tools to help you remain motivated and focused.
But it’s never enough. You need to 𝗔𝗖𝗧 – 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀.
You might be scared of putting your first foot out regarding the job application, business idea, returning to school, getting a degree, or even making that marriage commitment.
The answer lies in 𝗗𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚.
The people who achieve great success in life are the ones who are willing to take consistent action toward realizing their dreams.
Taking the first step is perhaps the most difficult thing to do in achieving a dream. But it gets easier once you begin.
Consider these few things to successfully take that first step:
1. Believe In Your Dream.
If you don’t, who will? Is it worth pursuing? Is it something you want to pour your heart into? This will become a motivator when things get difficult.
2. Visualise Your Dream.
Paint a picture of the end and hold fast to that image. This will energise you and keep you focused.
3. Take One Step At A Time.
Life is a marathon, not a sprint. So is it with achieving your goals. It can be overwhelming when you decide to eat a whole elephant at once. So take it one bite at a time and you’ll be amazed at how much you will accomplish.
